When Leo and I go out for a flight, we meet somewhere and drive along till we found a nice looking spot where we want to fly.
The bad thing about it was the communication while we drive through the country (every one in his own car). Because these walkie-talkies are really affordable (~26€) i bought the Motorola Twinpack TLKR T4.
- range up to 6 kilometers
- automatic noise cancelling
- size / weight: 19,3 x 14,1 x 5,1 cm ; 54 g
From car to car (in the city) you will still manage to get ~1km range and without obstacles you might get the 6km that the datasheet is telling you.
These walkie-talkies are really small and light and i would suggest to buy some, if you also drive along with another buddy for searching a nice flying spot.
They might be useful as well, if two people want to search a field for a missing plane or something like that.
