Just a short news:
We managed to set our new personal range record with 5.8GHz:
5,1km with a very stable picture
We used a CL and a 10-turn helical for that flight. The FrSky 2.4GHz RC reached its limit at that distance, that’s why we flew back at 5.1km.
Depending on the environment and the weather conditions, we should be able to reach 7-8 kilometers with the same setup (and a LRS RC system or a 2.4GHz booster).
The 5.8Ghz record with 200mW that i know is ~18km with a very fine tuned 8-turn helical but i am very satisfied to reach~5km with our setup.
We want to thank chipsundgrips from the FPV-Community.de forums for building the FPV antennas, that we used for that flight.
Just send him a private message, if you want him to build some nice 5.8GHz CP antennas for you.
