Actual photos of the EPP No.1:
This weekend the next Build Log videos will be cutted and uploaded.
At the moment the No.1 would be ready to fly but the FPV gear is not installed yet, so i hope to get the CG right with EZ OSD + LC filter (without FPV gear, i have to put a 1300mah 3s lipo behind the GoPro to match the CG).
This weekend we started to build the final EPP version of the No.1 blunt nose edition.
We decided to film the building process for you, although this caused a lot addition work (that’s why we are still not done with the wing).
Here is part 1 (intro) and part 2 of the build-log:
At the moment the wing looks like this:
We finished our second FPV flight with the prototype, so we got some new facts for you 🙂
Material: styrofoam (so the final EPP version will be a bit heavier)
Strengthening: 2x 2m GFK rods + 2x 1m GFK Rods (all 2mm thick) and laminate foil (75mic)
Wingspan: ~155cm
Thickness: ~45mm on the thickest part of the wing
CG: at the moment our CG is at 19cm from the nose (19,5cm should also work)
Glue: wings glued with UHU Por, GFK Rods glued with PU glue (it foams well)
Components:
- Turnigy D3542/5 1250kV Brushless Outrunner
- Turnigy Trust 70A SBEC (a bit more than needed *g*)
- 2x Turnigy MG930 Digital Metal Gear Servo
- 9×7″ Aeronaut folding prop with 42mm middle part (10×6″ is also working well)
- FPV Cam (cheap Sony CCTV Cam at the moment, TBS69 soon) + Cyclops Easy OSD + 5.8 Foxtech Tx
- FrSky Telemetry Rx
- GoPro HD
- 2x 3000mah 20C 3S Zippy Flightmaxx
Weight:
~1600g with full equip (incl. GoPro)
So the EPP Version will be a bit heavier, maybe 1750g
Speed / Amperes (level flight, no wind):
- glide-speed ~35km/h
- cruise-speed 55km/h (8A)
- full-speed ~110km/h (45A)
Flight time:
~45min when flying economical
~25min mixed fun fly
Maybe we can build the EPP version this weekend.
When the No.1 blunt nose version will be available in the shop (a2-modellbau.de) it is very likely that it will be sold with all accessories (balsa rudders, laminate foil, rods, motor mount, rudder linkages).
Stay tuned
